My Music

Plain Verse

A Lamentation

Performed by Raggedy Do (feat. Milly). The lyrics inspired by those of Mark Hollis (1955 2019) the visionary songwriter of Talk Talk, a band that evolved from 1980s synth-pop into the most revered experimental act of its time. In 1998, Hollis retreated from public life, embracing silence as a form of artistic integrity.

Memory

Performed by Raggedy Do (feat. Milly & Tony). Based on 'Paradise Lost', John Milton's towering epic poem, from 1667, which retells the biblical story of the Fall of Man. The lyrics (also written in unrhymed iambic pentameter) summarise one small thread of it, that of the waning soul and memories.

Chaos Born

A theatrical soundscape performed by Uranium (feat. Milly and Tony). The lyrics are directly inspired by the album Galactic Zoo Dossier by Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come. Released in October 1971. It's a wild, genre-blending journey through progressive rock.

The Unsinkable

This piece is a progressive rock ballad adaptation of a blank verse poem about the Titanic. Made with respect remembering those lost souls. It seeks to capture both the majesty of the ship and the sorrow of its fate.

Sonnets

Borne By The Sun

Performed by Dennis Wusus, written while walking ontop the Franz Josef Glacier. The form is that of a fourteen line Sonet but without the ending rhyming couplet. (Repeating the last four lines is Suno's idea). The twelve line acrostic spells 'wakatopatopa' the Maori for 'helicopter'.

SUNO Colaborations

Krautrock Musician Eastern Philosophy.

Krautrock (AKA Kosmische Musik) is experimental rock that emerged in West Germany. I let SUNO go on the lyrics a little bit. Performed by Uranium.

El Guardian

Seeded with some important ideas I let AI dream a dream and then SUNO does the rest and articulates the ending nicely.

The Light of the Fireflies

Konnichiwa! Writing lyrics in Japaneese Kanji is no obstacle these days. Reina performs this traditional folk song to new music.

Piet Mondriaan

Known best for his geometric compositions using primary colors, black lines, and white space that feel like visual symphonies of order and abstraction. Sung by Milly.

Turn Back

Attempting a Canon, building entirely on overlapping melodic lines (counterpoint). Inspired by Philip Glass, the ever changing music which seems unchanging.

New Words And Music To Old Songs

Lytham Is A Dancer

Rhythm Is A Dancer by Snap. The timeless Eurodance anthem. 90s club scene pulsing synths, soaring vocals, and unforgettable hook.

Elizabeth II

We Will Rock You by Queen (Who else?). Performed by Raggeddy Do.

I'm Spammin

I'm Jammin; Bob Marley trying to keep with the heartbeat of Rastafarian philosophy and calling for peace and spiritual resilience. Or, on the other hand, just trying to hack your machine.

Less To Pay

Yesterday by the Beatles. Performed here by The Club House Quartet.

The Butterfly Effect

Pinball Wizzard by The Who. The butterfly effect is a concept from chaos theory that describes how tiny changes in initial conditions can lead to vastly different outcomes in complex systems. Named after the poetic idea that a butterfly flapping its wings in Oz could eventually cause a tornado in Texas.

My Pills

The Hills Are Alive performed by Raggeddy Do. I am grateful to the NHS for providing me, at no small expense, with three pills a day. The others are vitamins, funded by myself.

BREXIT

Back in the USSR by the Beatles.

Monaco

You Never Give Me Your Money by the Beatles.

Kasbah

My Guitar Gently Weeps by George. I have many regrets I did not avail some shops on my travels. Milly sings it this time.

Donuts

Rawhide, the theme for the '60s TV series that helped launch Clint Eastwood's career. The original song captured the grit and rhythm of a cattle drive and this one doesn't. Performed by Raggedy Do.

Rubbish

Dennis Wusus Performes Send All My Lovin To You by the Beatles.

Get Your Modem Running

Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf, performed by Hot Pool.

OI! Referee!

Firestarter by Prodigy. Punking the lyrics using a mixture of sizes, fonts, gaps and tonals had a very unusual effect on SUNO.

Infinity

It's a Long Way to Tipperary. Written in 1912 it became a beloved marching song for British troops during World War I.

Iceland

Jumping Jack Flash by the Stones. Performed by Hot Pool.

The Hitch Hiker's Boogie

Performed by Uranium, this barely scratches the surface.
